Foster

Your main responsibility as a foster is to love and care for your foster pet.

In addition, we ask that you accompany your foster pet to vet visits, as needed. If that is not possible, we will arrange for another volunteer to get your foster pet to the vet and, of course, we pay for all vetting.

The short answer is yes! Many of us do work full-time jobs and many adopters do, too. Being well cared for in a home with people who leave to go to work is a HUGE step up for many of the pets we rescue. They need love, food, shelter, and someone who cares...but they will be OK until you get home!

Yes! You can choose whether you'd like to foster a cat or dog, whether you want a puppy, senior, or somewhere in between. We let you decide what type of animal and behaviors fit your lifestyle and consider breed preferences and your comfort level with training and/or special needs animals.

If you fall in love with your foster pet, you certainly wouldn't be the first! Many of our fosters have discovered, through fostering, that their pet was already exactly where it belonged!

Should this happen to you, rest assured that we offer our fosters the first option to adopt.
